Best Xmas Window Awards 2021

Hereford BID are excited to be bringing the Best Xmas Shop Window Awards to Hereford for another year as part of their catalogue of festive fun planned for the city!

After a difficult festive season last year, we hope that, along with our other events and promotions, the Awards will encourage visitors into the city to see all the festive displays (and spend some money!). The Awards are also a great opportunity for BID members to have their business showcased online and via the LoyalFree app.

Following feedback, we have made a couple of small changes to the Awards for this year. In addition to the public vote on Facebook, we will run a LoyalFree trail of all displays to encourage footfall and lead visitors around the city. Using the app, they will have the option to vote for their favourite displays – the scores from this will be added to the overall public vote.

In previous years, the public vote has provided the shortlist for the judges to decide our finalists, but this year the judges and public vote will be separate – giving businesses an extra chance of winning!

How does it work?

Businesses around the city centre decorate their shopfront or window with a festive display. The displays added to an album on Facebook and to a trail on LoyalFree app for the public to vote for their favourites. After the public vote, judges will be invited to visit a shortlist of displays to review and mark them on their creativity, innovation, festiveness, and overall presentation.

How do I take part?

  • Register your interest with the BID team
  • Decorate your shop window and put up your Best Xmas window sticker
  • Send one photo of your shop window to Hereford BID (or arrange a time for the team to take one for you) by midday on Monday 15th November (NOTE: now extended until Friday19th November)

Keep an eye out for the Facebook public vote and make sure to share with your followers to get as many likes as possible!

The Judges will be out to mark the shortlisted locations on Monday 20th December.
