Safety & Security

Connecting businesses to speed up the response to anti-social behaviour so everyone in the city can feel safe, day or night! Hereford BID works alongside the Police, local authority and third sector partners to ensure businesses are heard and understood.

In BID 1, we launched DISC, the successful online crime reduction app, and will continue to run and expand the membership of DISC throughout our second term. DISC provides real-time information on suspects and offenders, plus security news and trends. DISC is supported by a member of the BID staff who helps manage and coordinate intelligence and provide training to businesses needing support.

Hereford BID also chair Team Hereford, an group designed to improve communication between businesses and other operational security providers. Meetings currently are held once a month at The Wellington on Widemarsh Street. We also make a small contribution to the costs of running CCTV to make sure there is extra cover at key times.
