Experience Tranquillity and Artistic Inspiration This Summer

This summer, artists and creatives are invited to spend time in the peaceful surroundings of the historic Cloisters at Hereford Cathedral. Set across select dates in June, July and August, Creative Cloisters offers a rare opportunity to work in a location steeped in centuries of artistic inspiration.

With access to the serene Cloisters, the elegant College Hall, and the riverside Canon’s Garden, participants can immerse themselves in beauty and quiet while creating new work in response to their surroundings.

Whether you choose to stay in one spot or move between areas, you’ll be free to explore and be inspired by the cathedral’s heritage, architecture and natural views. Each day runs from 10 am to 3 pm and includes refreshments and lunch. Attendees are also invited to showcase their work in a group exhibition within the cathedral.

A Space That Inspires Creativity

The Cloisters have long been a place of reflection and artistic energy — from medieval monks to modern-day makers. This event continues that legacy by inviting today’s creatives to respond to the space in their own way. As Owen Towndrow, Visitor Engagement Officer, puts it:

“The opportunity to share this space through a creative perspective is something we are all looking forward to.”
