Lockdown 2: Hereford Updates

Along with the rest of England, Hereford is now in its second lockdown. With things changing yet again, we wanted to share some information and links with you to help keep you in the loop with the lockdown basics and what’s happening in the city.

Lockdown II: the basics

This new lockdown starts on Thursday 5th November and is set to continue up to and including Wednesday 2nd December. During this period, certain businesses and venues must close, people must stay at home where possible (only leaving for essential activities) and should avoid meeting people they don’t live with (or are outside their support bubble). Some activities, such as food shopping, click & collect, education and essential work, are exceptions to this. You can read more about the government guidelines here

Who’s open in Hereford?

Whilst some businesses have been forced to close their doors as a result of lockdown rules, plenty of essential businesses will still be open, including supermarkets, food shops and pharmacies. We’re really pleased to say that many businesses are also adapting during lockdown by offering online shopping and personal shopping experiences, paired with click & collect or home delivery.

Lots of our favourite Hereford eateries will still be available for delivery, click & collect or takeaway too, including the Beefy Boys, the Green Dragon Hotel and the Burger Shop.

Support Local, Shop Local

Despite the necessity of these rules to keep us all safe, being faced with another lockdown has added yet another challenge to an already difficult year, for Hereford and its businesses. So, whether you’re planning your Christmas gift list or picking up some essentials, don’t forget about the great variety of local businesses you can order from too. We’re also launching our lockdown delivery service, Support & Deliver, very soon!
