Powerhouse Media: Mappa Mundi

Film & Theatre

Powerhouse, the Hereford-based theatre company, is bringing a new production to the city this summer. Written and performed by artistic director, Tim Evans, MAPPA MUNDI explores loss, memory and human connection as it whisks audiences from the vibrant pulse of 1990s Hereford, propels them around the globe and catapults them five minutes into the future.

Weaving together letters, fragments of memory and recordings of Tim’s late brother, Alex, the thought-provoking one-man show asks the compelling question: How do we begin to map a life?

Showing at Shack Revolution from 22 to 25 August, the intimate story is told using archival video as well as pioneering technologies which serve to deepen the emotional connectivity.

Tim Evans, artistic director, Powerhouse, explains; “At its heart, this play is about home, what that means to each of us as well as how places and individuals can change. For me, theatre for local audiences should be able to tell local stories. MAPPA MUNDI is a personal story but one that is relevant to many that live or grew up in small towns and cities like Hereford.”

Powerhouse is grateful for The Beefy Boys’ sponsorship of MAPPA MUNDI as well as the support of Arts Council England.
