Beautiful Flowers Brighten Blueschool Street

Beautiful cedar wood planters and later summer blossom can be found in what was an eyesore along the pavement opposite the Old Market and Herdsman Pub in Blueschool Street - thanks to the latest work of the Hereford Business Improvement District (Hereford BID).

Chris Wood, lead handy person for the Hereford BID said "this has been a grot spot for a number of years of which ourselves and Hereford in Bloom have spent many an hour tidying and weeding. It was time to take the old barrel planters away and replace with something more modern and welcoming to visitors".

Chris, who has been with the Hereford BID for almost 7 years is a keen gardener and proud of the city centre. Having not long worked on the apple trees aligning the Old City Wall by the Police Station, this was a project Hereford BID had high on their list of targets. The work will continue next Spring in Blueschool street when further planters and flowers are added with the possibility of a legacy metalwork piece being created from the International Ferrous Festival (planned in March 2022) installed here.
