First launched in 2017, Ferrous is a ten-day festival that celebrates the craft of blacksmithing. Join us to learn about the remarkable blacksmithing tradition through hands-on live forging experiences, workshops, exhibitions and more.

The main festival weekend is 25 - 27 March, with some exhibitions continuing until 3 April 2022.

HAVE A GO FORGING

Try your hand at forging! This popular event gives the public the chance to have a hands-on experience of blacksmithing as they forge hot metal to create their very own tree support. This experience costs £12 per person and includes tuition, use of safety equipment, materials, and a sapling tree to take home. Pre-booking essential.

HEREFORD CITY FERROUS TAKEOVER

Ferrous has taken over locations throughout Hereford to house its array of exhibitions and workshops. You’ll find contemporary makers from Sweden, local historic artifacts and much more. Use an event map or the LoyalFree app to explore the city and discover them all.
