Alfresco Dining in April

Hereford City Life are thrilled to see lots of hospitality businesses reopening and adapting in order to get back to doing what they do best - providing us with great food and drink!

Whether you’re taking a coffee break or going for a meal with friends, we’ve put together a selection fantastic eateries in Hereford City Centre that are currentyoffer outdoor seating. We can’t guarantee the weather but we’re sure you’ll find a great spot to enjoy this April.

Coffee & Cake

Picking up a coffee and sweet treat? Stop off at The Coffee Cart Company Ltd (High Town & Old Market) or Costa Coffee (Old Market), who have reopened their outdoor seating. Both venues offer covered or partially covered seating to help protect you from the elements.

Alternatively, Caffe Nero, Coffee #1 and Matrix Hereford all have uncovered seating available at the front of their stores. If they're busy, you can always pick up a takeaway to enjoy on one of High Town’s new benches or in Castle Green when the weather is nice.

A spot of lunch

In Church Street, the heart of Hereford's Independent Quarter, there are a plenty options for visitors looking for lunch. Number 10 the Tearoom and The Little Deli both have a couple of tables at their front but be quick as these limited seats fill up quick! If you’re looking for a pub lunch, the Litchfield Vaults recently added tables at the front, in addition to their rear beer garden, where you can enjoy good food and/or a pint. Popular French bistro, La Madeleine, also has seating available in their delightful garden at the rear of the restaurant. It's perfect for enjoying a lunchtime catch-up with a friend away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.

Both Wildwood and Wagamama have extended their outdoor seating areas to offer more space for their customers. It's a perfect stop place to stop off if you've been busy shopping in the Old Market.

Evenings Out

If you’re craving a meal out, there are lots of fantastic favourites that’ll have you covered. In the Old Market, all the big chain restaurants, including Miller & Carter, Zizzi and Nandos have outdoor seating on offer, and The Beefy Boys have an extended outdoor seating area at the front of their restaurant with canopy coverage and outdoor heaters - this is super popular though so booking is advised!

The talented team at A Rule of Tum have also reopened their outdoor seating area, The Yard. Here you can order food from any of their restaurants - The Burger Shop, The Bookshop and Barabeka. This stylish eating area proved a huge hit when it first opened and this time will be no different, so booking is thoroughly recommended.

Alternatively, stroll down Broad Street to discover more great locations to dine alfresco! New for this year, both the Green Dragon Hotel and The Broad Street Pizza Works have successfully introduced on-street seating, so you can enjoy their menus outdoors. This seating is available on Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm and on Sundays from 10am (Green Dragon) or 12pm (Pizza Works).
